Welcome to the Minaputa Dojo

We are a small martial arts dojo where the main art practiced is traditional Hyou-ha Bankoku Jujutsu and it's companion arts, Hou-ha Bankoku Hakuda Kempo and Kuatsu.

In addition to traditional Hyou-ha Bankoku Jujutsu we practice Jojutsu using a short, 120cm stick and Goju-ryu karatejutsu.

The various disciplines practiced at the Minaputa Dojo are a very good fit with each other. It is fair to say that the weakness of one art is often a strength of one or both of the others.

The atmosphere in the dojo is relaxed with a minimum of ceremony, the focus of our training is always on self-defence.

Hyou-ha Bankoku Jujutsu at Minaputa

We are the Australian Capital Territory branch dojo of the Kokusai Jujutsu Kenkukai (International Jujutsu Research Society) under the leadership of Master Raymond Lea, senior disciple of the late Professor KAM Hock Hoe.

Minaputa Jojutsu

Jojutsu is traditionally a companion art to Nihon Jujutsu. While our founder, Soshi or Professor KAM Hock Hoe practiced jojutsu along with a number of other sub-arts he never taught it openly.

At the Minaputa Dojo we practice an eclectic form of Jojutsu as a companion art to our jujutsu.

IGK Goju-ryu Karatejutsu

We also practice traditional IGK (Kokusai Goju Kobujutsu Kenkyukai) Goju-ryu Karatejutsu as taught by Tino Ceberano Hanshi.

The karate is focused on a realistic self-defence application of karate.
